Mercer Alliance to End Homelessness
Volunteers and Give-away Items are needed for Project Homeless Connect – Tuesday, January 29, 2013

On Wednesday, January 30, 2013 through January 31, 2013, the Trenton /Mercer Continuum of Care (CoC) will conduct a Point-In-Time survey of the homeless in Trenton and Mercer County. The Point in-time Count starts at 5pm on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 through to Thursday January 31, 2013 @ 5pm. We are looking for volunteers for Thursday, January 31 during the day. The purpose of this survey is to count the homeless living on the streets, in emergency shelters and transitional housing programs.

Last January, we served over 325 individuals at Project Homeless Connect event. The July 2012 event served over 700 people.

We are seeking volunteers to help set-up, to serve food, pass out items, and act as guides and survey takers. We are seeking donations of new socks, underwear, hat, gloves, sneakers, boots and personal care items.

Volunteer training is scheduled for the following dates: 2 Training Times. Choose one to attend and email:

House Logo DROP-OFF LOCATION and DAYS - CLOTHING/SNEAKERS

Friday, January 18 (11am-4pm), and Monday, January 21 (11am to 4pm) ONLY – Mercer Alliance will accept donations of jeans, sweaters, coats, hats, gloves, sneakers or work boots only. Most of the clients are male and all sizes of pant sizes 28 to 56, Small to 4 x shirts and larger men shoes sizes are needed.

Other items that are being collected: Flashlights/batteries, Reading Glasses; Personal Care kits: Toothbrushes, Razors, Brushes, Deodorant, Chap sticks, Tissues packets, Handi-wipes or personal hygiene wipes, and Personal first aid kits.

Location: 3131 Princeton Pike, Building 4, Suite113, Lawrenceville - Please come to the back of the building and come to the glass door on the left with donations. We only accepting on the above dates and times – (Friday, January 18 (11am-4pm), and Monday, January 21 (11am to 4pm) ONLY), there will not be anyone at other times! House Logo Point-In-Time survey of the homeless On Thursday, January 31, 2013

The Trenton /Mercer Continuum of Care (CoC) will conduct a Point-In-Time survey of the homeless in Trenton and Mercer County. The purpose of this survey is to count the homeless living on the streets, in emergency shelters and transitional housing programs. The Point-In-Time Count (PIT) survey is a mandate by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) conducted on a bi-annual basis.

We are also seeking volunteers to help connect the Point-in-Time survey. You can sign up for a 3 hour shift during the day. 5am-9am, 9am-Noon, Noon -3pm, 3pm -6pm. Fill out this form.

Volunteer training is scheduled for the following date.

Thursday, January 17 @ Noon at the Rescue Mission.
