Mercer Alliance to End Homelessness

Find out how to Volunteer to assist low-wage workers in doing their tax returns!

Tuesday, Oct 4 from 4:30 to 6:30pm
United Way’s Conference Room
(come to the back of building 4 and enter at the glass door)
3131 Princeton Pike, Bldg. 4, Suite 113, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648

This is an opportunity to speak with our trainer, volunteers and site coordinators about volunteering to do free tax preparation for low-wage workers in Mercer County.

By joining the Greater Trenton Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Asset Building Coalition, and volunteering 4 to 8 hours per week, you will be helping low-income families and individuals file for refunds.

This year with the economic crisis, everyone needs their tax return completed free of charge all of their credit dollars.

We support several different sites across the County and run special tax events during the tax season.

Last year, our volunteers and sites helped over 1000 Mercer families and individuals with free tax preparation. Thousands more learned about the EITC and Free Tax Sites from Mercer Alliance and the Greater Trenton EITC and Asset Building’s outreach and advertising campaign.

Receiving a 2011TY EITC refund, which can reach over $5,700 per household, is a vital way for low-wage earners to reduce the great gap between their income and housing costs.

Last year the total of all EITC filers brought over 44 million EITC dollars into Mercer County.

Come join and help more people get this vital credit and service!
