The mission of the Mercer Alliance is to develop and implement policy designed to house people as quickly as possible and provide them with the necessary supports to maintain housing, thus ending their homelessness.

Our Alliance Board, representing government, non-profits, health care providers and business has created a common vision and provided the leadership needed to carry it out.

We have changed homeless policy in Mercer County, New Jersey and are recognized as national leaders in ending homelessness. Homelessness is a complex problem: families experience primarily economic problems, singles individuals often have mental health and substance abuse problems, veterans are often disconnected from services. Some have been homeless for years.

Mercer Alliance with its diverse Board of Directors introduced new service models for ending homelessness based on the assumption that housing comes first.
